Government urged to strengthen land administration

The government is being called up on to strengthen land registry and create awareness on land ownership to minimize conflict.  

UNMISS Civil Affairs Division team leader Victor Fasama, says there is need to have an effective land registry system in South Sudan.

Government is currently having a two – day community engagement on land issues in Juba City and Juba County.   

The initiative supported by UN Civil Affairs Division is spearheaded by a special Committee appointed by Central Equatoria State Governor to reclaim land grabbed in Juba town, including those from the communities in Mangalla, Luri and Rejaf Payams.
