Head of UNMISS emphasizes the importance of involving young people in conflict resolution and peace processes

The Special Representative of the UN Secretary General to South Sudan and head of UNMSS, Nicholas Haysom has emphasized the importance of involving young people in conflict resolution and peace processes. He made the call ahead of this year’s international Day of peacekeepers.

His comments come as peacekeepers in South Sudan gear up for the celebration of the International Day of UN Peacekeepers on Saturday, 29 May.

The theme of this year’s International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers  is “The road to a lasting peace: Leveraging the power of youth for peace and security”.
