Mysteries and Monsters: Episode 79 The Wendigo with Chad Lewis and Kevin Lee Nelson

Aug 03, 2020, 10:00 AM

This week, I'm joined by authors and investigators Chad Lewis and Kevin Lee Nelson to discuss their fantastic new book, Wendigo Lore: Monsters, Myths and Madness.

As someone with only a passing knowledge of the Wendigo, I found this book to be a fantastic resourse for anyone wanting to know more about this fearsome creature and the way it is viewed by the tribes of the northern US States and Canada.

Chad and Kevin have left no stone unturned as they tracked stories, newspaper reports and tribespeople to find out more about this creature and its role in the frozen heartlands of these areas.

We cover some of the explanations for the creature, alongside some frankly terrifying accounts alongside one particularly famous case as well as some other strange creatures of tribal folklore.
