Episode 1373,   Jun 11, 2021, 05:02 AM

It’s time to meet Australotitan cooperensis – a new species of giant sauropod dinosaur from Eromanga, southwest Queensland.

The fossilised skeleton was originally nicknamed ‘Cooper’ after Cooper Creek, when first discovered in 2007 by the Eromanga Natural History Museum. It now represents the largest species of dinosaur ever found in Australia.

Senior Curator of Geosciences at Queensland Museum, Dr Scott Hocknull, has played a large role in unearthing and naming the beast. He joins Jennie Lenman for a chat about the discovery.
