Ep 136: Finding your voice with Nicola Rae Wickham

Jun 17, 2021, 05:00 AM

Hi lovely,

It’s Selina here this week with a deep, inspiring and juicy conversation for you all about finding your voice, with the queen of heart-felt expression, Nicola Rae Wickham.

I’ve known Nicola for a number of years now and every time I sit down in a conversation with her, whether it is just between us or recording a podcast episode to share, she always brings a depth, warmth, wisdom and power to it that leaves me inspired and moved and this week’s conversation has to have been the most powerful to date.

In case you don’t know Nicola, she is an award-winning coach and mentor, founder of ‘A Life More Inspired’ and host of the ‘Dream and Do’ podcast. In her own words she is ‘on a mission to help big-hearted (deep thinking and big feeling) creatives find, use and amplify their voice and make a real WHOLEHEARTED and positive impact in the world.’

And wow, does she lead by example. Over the past 18 months I have witnessed Nicola step into her power in a whole new way, find her voice and use it to make a positive impact both in her business, her own life and the world around her.

In this episode we talk about:

  • Finding her voice in business and how she learnt to attract her ideal clients
  • Finding her voice and speaking her truth as a black woman during Black Lives Matter and ever since
  • The healing power of speaking your truth
  • The importance of being discerning around WHO your share your truth with
  • Why people-pleasers in particular struggle with finding their voice
  • Tips on how to start practicing speaking your own truth

We also used the conversation as a chance to reflect together on each of our healing around racism over the past year, the work we have both done with Nova Reid to help us with that healing and what we are each committing to doing moving forward to carry on with that healing.

I am so looking forward to you hearing this conversation. If you enjoy it, please leave a 5 star review for us. It makes such a difference.
