IOM engages communities to identify priority development needs

The International Office for Migration (IOM) in South Sudan is engaging communities in more than 200 bomas across the country to identify priority developmental needs.
The chief of mission in South Sudan, Peter Van der Auweraert says humanitarian assistance must be accompanied by developmental and peacebuilding projects to address the many challenges affecting the people.
Peter says the current humanitarian situation is an indicator that there is still suffering in the country. He says insecurity is a key challenge that needs to be addressed in order to pave way for development.
He calls on the relevant authorities to address this issue.
