"Political Party" w/ Adam Smith 7-6-21: Jeff Danner

Episode 4738,   Jul 08, 2021, 02:12 PM

Jeff Danner was a two-term member of the St. Petersburg City Council, representing District 8.

He’s running again.

“The Charter specifically states that you can sit out a term, and come back if you want,” Danner says on the latest episode of Political Party with Adam Smith. “So I did my two terms, in 2005 and 2009, and sat out for the two that Amy Foster precedes me with, and I’m coming back now to get back into it.”

Smith: “Are you comfortable with the direction of the city? How has the city been doing since you’ve been gone?”

Danner: “I think it’s doing well. When I was on the planning commission, we adopted the Vision 2020, re-wrote all the land codes and the zoning and everything … but seven of my eight years on Council were during the recession. And after that of course you get the next cycle, which is the boom. And I think a lot of good things are going on.”

The candidate goes on to say that citizens he’s talked with are concerned about balancing “good” development with preserving the character of St. Petersburg. #adamsmith #stpetecatalyst #stpete #tampabay #radio #radiostpete
