Consultations on Women and Trade for the African Continental Free Trade Area kicks off

South Sudanese women say lack of financial support and presence of multiple checkpoints have been some of the major obstacle hindering them from participating in cross-border trade. They revealed this at a national consultation aimed at providing a platform for women to voice their needs and interests about commerce in the context of the African Continental Free Trade Area.  It is supported by the United Nations Development Program and UNWomen. UNDP Gender Analyst Marget Mathiang explains some of the concerns raised to Miraya's Lucy Kiden.
