Terry Bullingham served in the Royal Navy until he lost his sight in an air strike while serving during the Falklands conflict.
After being taken back to the UK and assessed by Moorfields Eye Hospital, he was helped back on the road to recovery by the charity Blind Veterans UK.
Terry's life went from strength to strength and to give something back, his story, amongst others, will now feature in a book to help raise money for the veterans charity.
RNIB Connect Radio's Allan Russell spoke to Terry to learn about his time in the navy, his recovery and why the book is so important to him.
