The chamber of commerce in Juba city is calling on the city authority to take punitive measures against continued illegal collections from traders.

This follows complaints by several traders in Konyo-konyo market that four uniformed personnel, including two from the national fire bridge collected, sums of money from them on Thursday.

Chairperson of the Juba city Chamber of Commerce, Stephen Wani Aquilino, is demanding urgent intervention to protect businesses and consumers.

Last week, the Mayor ordered a stop to illegal taxing of traders by unauthorized institutions.
