South Sudan commemorates this year’s breast-feeding week

Breast feeding week is marked annually on the first week of August. The theme this year is: Protect Breastfeeding: A Shared Responsibility.
However, the relevant authorities have extended the commemoration from one week to a month-long campaign.

UNICEF Nutrition Officer Jessica Wudu Murye says this time will be used to create mass awareness on the importance of breastfeeding for the child’s health and nutritional needs. Jessica says breast-feeding month activities are taking place country wide. She spoke to Miraya's Lucy Kiden.
