No visit to Ireland is complete without a proper traditional Irish music session. Only an idiot would call it 'diddley-i music' for a true session is where women swoon, spirits soar and Gods are created in a single night. As such, a visit to this pub is a trip to "Mecca' for fans of the real thing.
This legendary Gweedore pub is regarded by many as where the actual Irish session as we know it, started and we have the audio to prove it from the renowned Inishowen fiddle player, Dinny White Harra McLaughlin telling how it took a good two weeks to fine tune that first session! Many great trad musicians have played in its venerated chamber. Not just trad music is played here, local band In Their Thousands play regular rock gigs here as well.
