The World Food Programme says it will suspend food assistance to more than 100,000 displaced people in the camps of Wau, Juba and Bor South because of funding shortages.

The suspension will last three months, effective October 2021.

WFP requires 154 million dollars to provide food assistance in sufficient quantities.

WFP Spokesperson Marwa Awad told Radio Miraya that they ran a campaign that prepares the affected communities for the food aid suspension.

The food aid suspension will, however, not affect mothers and children between six months and two years of age who live in the camps.
