At least 20 people are reported killed in clashes between two factions of the SPLM-IO in the Magenis area of Northern Upper Nile state.
SPLM-IO spokesperson, Lam Paul Gabriel says the Kitgwang-IO faction led by General Simon Gatwech attacked their bases last Friday, prompting their forces to launch counter attacks on Monday at Korjala and Geizan. Gabriel says the situation is calm today and hopes the Kitgwang faction accepts dialogue to resolve the internal wrangling.
He says their faction is ready for dialogue.
