Episode 1731,   Sep 16, 2021, 12:59 PM

The Union of Journalists of South Sudan – UJOSS, is appealing to the media authority to withdraw a case against the editor-in-chief of the Alwatan Arabic newspaper.

UJOSS President, Patrick Oyet says the authority acted unfairly when it fined Michael Christopher 700,000 SSP for allegedly posting politically inciting content on social media.

Christopher was given 30 days, which expired yesterday, to pay the fine or face legal action.

Oyet says they have held several meetings with the media authority but have failed to reach an understanding.
