President Kiir ready to begin mediation over the Tigiray crisis

Presidential Press secretary Atany Wek Ateny says President Salva Kiir is now ready to begin the mediation process on the Tigiray crisis following the swearing-in ceremony of the Ethiopia Prime minister, Abiy Ahmed in Addis Ababa, yesterday.
Ateny says the president used the visit to discuss with the Ethiopian Prime Minister the possible commencement of the mediation in the Ethiopian crisis between federal government and the Tigiray rebel group.
Ateny says the president will have other side meetings to lobby for lifting arms embargo on South Sudan, which has been cited as one of the reasons delaying the graduation of necessary unified forces.
