Ministry of General Education releases 2020-2021 secondary school examination results.

Results of the 2020-2021 South Sudan Certificate of Secondary Education Examinations have been released with a marked improvement in performance compared to the previous year. 

Releasing the results in Juba yesterday, the Minister of Education Awut Deng Achuil said there was a 97.4% pass rate of candidates compared to a 92.5% pass rate in 2019. Students performed best in Christian Religious Education with a 91.1% pass rate while the worst performed subject was English language with a 65.1% pass rate.  The best student was Joseph Obwany Okic from Joshua Okwaci SS in Upper Nile, followed by Sebit Justine Sunday from St. Daniel comboni SS in Central Equatoria State with a score of with 94.6%.  Third position was taken by two students Chiok Otong Liah from Juba International SS CES and Kuot Kiir Aluetmiir from Darling Wisdom Academy Central Equatoria State. 

The results show that female students performed better than male students. The best three states are Eastern Equatoria, Jonglei and Central Equatoria states.
