UNICEF: Floods and insecurity to push more children out of school

Episode 1780,   Oct 21, 2021, 06:03 PM

UN children’s agency, UNICEF, says floods and insecurity across South Sudan are expected to increase the number of children out of school. Figures from the agency indicate that South Sudan has one of the world's highest proportion of out-of-school children in the world. UNICEF Emergency Specialist, Emma Tuck, says floods and insecurity have displaced scores, many of them children who have been unable to get education.

She says more focus is needed on children as they are most affected by crises.

Tuck was speaking on the Nationwide discussion program this evening.
