In Studio: Akenya

DJ Ambush in conversation with the artist Akenya. Akenya is heavily influenced by jazz, roots going as far back as the primary school days with accreditation to childhood influences as well. Akenya is a musician all around, a classic piano player with an ear to hit the high notes. With the pandemic holding not only the world up, but also Akenya, they detail the performance they held in Chicago with an array of 17 musicians and a 37-song set. Akenya accomplished this feat with their team in its first run and also formed it within three weeks. If you wanna see and hear more from Akenya they are currently working on a project that is reflectic and showcases their love for music of the world, as well as an autobiographical piece of themselves.
