The MFH Good Deed Segment: Travel Expenses for Dena Madaris

At birth, Jojo was diagnosed with alpha-thalassemia x-linked intellectual disability (ATRX) syndrome. His mom, Dena Madaris, says, “All his life he has been a true fighter!” At 28 years old, Jojo is now in ICU in Montgomery, Alabama. Wanting to be with him, Dena has made the two and a half hour trip from her home in Riverside, Alabama, to Montgomery, Alabama, and back home again everyday for the past week. In total, it’s a five hour trip daily. From time to time, she has been able to stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites Montgomery-EastChase. A fundraiser has been organized to help with travel & accommodation expenses. On today's show, I am highlighting this fundraising effort. In honor of my friend, Anna Jean Selsvik, who had a passion for the special needs community, the show will be dedicated to her.
