South Sudanese students to be evacuated as tensions rise in Amhara, Ethiopia

The South Sudanese Ambassador to Ethiopia, James Morgan, has said that 59 South Sudanese students on government scholarship in Ethiopia’s Amhara region will be evacuated on Wednesday to Addis Ababa and thereafter flown back to the country. 

He allayed fears that they their lives are in danger in the face of the ongoing fighting in Ethiopia.
The students are mainly from Bahir Dar and Gondar universities. 

He said that the students will resume their studies once the situation deescalates.
