Our next ship.energy podcast guest is Antoon van Coillie, CEO of Zulu Associates, who discusses his company’s work in the area of autonomous and zero emission shipping.

Zulu is a Belgian firm which describes itself as an ‘initiator, developer and operator of innovations in the marine component of logistic chains.’ It has two main business arms: Blue Line Logistics and Anglo Belgian Shipping Company.

Blue Line operates its own design of Pallet Shuttle Barge. With its one crew operation and auto discharging capability, these barges are ideally suited for handling freight on inland waterways and in urban logistics. Blue Line became a full subsidiary of the Sogestran Group in March 2021.

Anglo Belgian Shipping is developing the Zulu MASS – MASS standing for Maritime Autonomous Surface Ship. 

Antoon is an ex-banker with 20 years’ experience in financial services. He established Blue Line Logistics in 2011 and Zulu Associates in 2019. He has an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management.
