Needs for flood victims have grown – UN OCHA

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs UN OCHA says climate change has had adverse effects on the people this year compared to previous years. OCHA Deputy Head of Office Policy Annette Hearns says over eight hundred and thirty thousand people, a greater proportion of whom are women and children, were reported as having been impacted by flooding and that about six hundred and twenty thousand of those had their status verified and received assistance.
She was speaking on Miraya breakfast this morning.
