Knowing that one of her students had received a heart transplant, Ms. Breanna Owens of New Bethel Elementary School encouraged students to wear red today in honor of 9-year-old Willow Borden. Not only did students participate, but the community in Tuscumbia, Alabama, as well! I had the opportunity to speak with Willow’s mom, Jessica Borden, about this wonderful expression of love & kindness for her daughter as well as a page Jessica has started to share Willow’s journey and to bring awareness to congenital heart issues in children called, “Willow's World: Life of a Transplant Child.” Listen, be encouraged, and share.
