AMONG the headlines for Friday, February 18, 2022, all pregnant mothers and women are urged by the Ministry of Health to get the Covid-19 vaccination as well as the booster dose which has proven to reduce hospitalisation if infected with the virus.

Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said preventive measures are extremely important to avoid getting further complications from Covid-19 infection, and prompted pregnant mothers categorised in the high-risk group.

Also, Hong Kong leader Carrie Lam earlier today said that the global financial hub has identified more than 20,000 hotel rooms for quarantine accommodation.

Lam said property developers showed support with about 21 hotels that had expressed interest in turning their facilities into isolation venues, exceeding by a large margin the government's original target of 7,000 to 10,000 rooms, as Hong Kong battles a surge in COVID-19 cases.
