Since 2018, Emma Slagle, who will graduate from the University of Northern Iowa in May, has been working with her dad, Ron Slagle, to help make their business, Honor And Respect LLC, a success.
With the assistance of UNI John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center, Honor and Respect is an American-flag-themed athletic shoe and apparel business that she and her dad, who is a police officer, created to support first responders and military personnel. The company donates all its profits to organizations that provide mental health help to first responders.
On tonight’s show, I am talking with Emma about this special effort and her passion for this worthy cause!
After my conversation with Emma, I'll be talking with Charles and Janine Hutton about their need for a wheelchair accessible van to transport their 18-year-old daughter, Charity. With both Charles and Janine on disability and also taking care of Charles’s 87-year-old mother, who lives with dementia, the family needs our help with this wheelchair accessible van effort.
