Simple Safety Measure Could Save Lives At Rail Stations, Why The Delay?

Season 1, Episode 1146,   Feb 25, 2022, 03:40 PM

The 26th of February 2022 marks the 2nd anniversary of the tragic, and preventable, death of Cleveland Gervais.

Cleveland, who had sight loss, died after falling from a London train station platform which did not have vital tactile paving.

Sight Loss charity RNIB launched a campaign to lobby Network Rail and the Department For Transport to, as a matter of urgency, make sure all platforms are fitted with tactile paving.

RNIB Connect Radio's Allan Russell spoke to Sekha Hall, Cleveland's partner, and Roisin Jacklin, from RNIB, to find out why they are calling for the Government and Network Rail to firmly commit to accelerated rail safety timeline
