Livestock in South Sudan

Livestock holds a very important space in the hearts of many South Sudanese as it is both a sign of status in society and the main source of income and food for most of the population.

However, pastoral farming in South Sudan comes with its own challenges due to various factors which include flooding, drought, and swampy terrains. One organization is alive to this fact and is working tirelessly to support the local population in safeguarding livestock. Sebit William spoke to Wono Luke, Juru Rose Manson and Beatrice Awot Emmanuel, all of whom are members of the Vétérinaires Sans Frontières Suisse.
