Why men can’t commit

The pain of unrequited love was once a mark of valour. Now the abundance of choice that men apparently experience in the market place of love is leading to a moral panic in their capacity to commit. Using an example from an online support group the sociologist Eva Illouz, author of ‘Why Love Hurts’, explains to Laurie Taylor on Thinking Allowed, how choice has affected men’s responses to commitment.
