The Man in the Black Suit with Anthony Breznican

Episode 117,   Apr 13, 2022, 08:00 AM

Vanity Fair's Anthony Breznican joins the Kingcast boys to take a look at this important, but under-discussed entry into Stephen King's canon in which an old man recalls a run-in with Satan himself while he was a young child. As usual, discussing veers wildly when you get a bunch of King nerds together and the conversation whiplashes between serious topics, like the death of children, to not-so-serious topics like a surprising amount of time dedicated to electric lawnmowers.

That's how we do 'round these parts. Make sure to stick around for the outro to hear a big announcement about next week's guest.

The Man in the Black Suit was something of a turning point for Stephen King. Published in The New Yorker in 1994, this short story went on to win many prestigious awards, including the O. Henry Award for short fiction and seemed to singlehandedly turn critical perception of the best selling author around.
