Charcoal Consumption in South Sudan
The consumption of charcoal is indispensable for almost every household in South Sudan. Even lighting a small amount of incense involves using charcoal, not to mention the cooking of big quantities of food in social gatherings. But charcoal seems to be a lucrative business to many in the country as much as there are environmental risks involved, especially forestation. But another worrying dimension comes from experts who say charcoal has been exported without due regulations.
