Season 1, Episode 1233,   May 19, 2022, 08:00 AM

There are many ways that blind and partially sighted people can get involved in the work that the RNIB does around making a more inclusive society and even shape the future of the RNIB too, one way is through the regular Voice of the Customer Focus Group meetings.

RNIB Connect Radio's Toby Davey caught up with Ross Hedley from the RNIB’s Research and Insight Team and Usha Mistry, who is visually impaired and has taken part in recent Voice of the Customer Focus Groups, to find out more about the focus groups and other ways to get involved in making a more inclusive society that will benefit all visually impaired people.

Ross began by telling Toby about the setup of the focus groups and their role within the RNIB research programme.

Usha talked about why she wanted to get involved in the Voice of the Customer Focus Group meetings and about her experience of the sight loss or eye care pathway which was the topic of a recent Voice of the Customer Focus Group meetings.

Usha also commented on how important it is within the group meetings for sharing your personal of experiences of sight loss, learning from others and helping to make a difference with all the research that goes on within the groups and how the involvement is on your own terms, you can get involved in the groups as much or as little as you want to.
