The Sync Report | Reeve Carney

Season 2, Episode 9,   Jun 16, 2022, 07:00 AM

Broadway’s very own Spiderman, Reeve Carney joined us a few months ago to talk about music and film.

Reeve is an award-winning singer, songwriter and actor who is well known for playing Peter Parker / Spiderman on Broadway for three years and more recently for starring as Orpheus in the Tony Award winning musical Hadestown on Broadway. You’ll also have seen him playing Tom Ford in the smash hit movie House of Gucci, and he will be playing Jeff Buckley in the movie biopic about the music icon.

Listen to Reeve as he talks us through his journey in music, from the Billy Joel song that first inspired him, through to his love for Aerosmith & Led Zeppelin. Hear which song led to interest in him from Interscope Records and the circumstances that led to Reeve auditioning and then landing the role of Spiderman on Broadway.

Find out Reeve’s thoughts on writing to picture versus writing songs for his band. Hear why Reeve is glad it’s taken ten years for the Jeff Buckley biopic to get made and how Reeve’s Mom was so important in the development of his career and the choices Reeve has made. Listen in what drives Reeve to perform at his best in each of his eight performances every week on Broadway and so much more in this epic conversation with our hosts Rose Ganguzza and Jason P Rothberg.

Tune in to the podcast to find out about all of this and more!

Then stay tuned for the sync session, when we were joined by our host Colin O’Donoghue, rock legend Suzi Quatro and legendary music producer Danny Saber as we listened to songs submitted for The Sync Report’s Colin O’Donoghue NFT release.
