The new RNIB Visibly Better Employer Quality Standard has been launched to help employers better support their blind and partially sighted employees, future employees and visually impaired job seekers as well as helping to make a more inclusive workplace for everyone.
RNIB Connect Radio’s Toby Davey caught up with Marie Clarkson, RNIB Visibly Better Employer quality standard Project Co-ordinator, to find out more about how the quality standard is helping to make a more inclusive workplace for blind and partially sighted people.
Marie began by telling Toby all about the set up of the RNIB Visibly Better Employer Quality Standard and what the main aims of the standard are and how they will help both employers and blind and partially sighted employees and job seekers.
Marie also shared details about some of the employers who have already been awarded the quality standard and what they did to gain their Visibly Better Employer accreditation.
Marie also mentioned that Employers can show that they are a more inclusive employer through the use of the Visibly Better Employer Quality Standard logo on their website, job applications and their career site, also stating that this is a on going relationship between the RNIB and the employer too.
