The living room. A room with what sounds like a very positive name, initially, was anything but. You see, the “living room” was originally named “living” for the living could gather to grieve their dead, before the days of funeral homes. If you happen to live in an older home, yes, you can almost bet that the living room was used to help usher someone onto the afterlife. Amy Schaefer had one of these historic rooms in her childhood home. A home that would inspire her to seek answers to her endless list of questions about the dead. Today, we hear her stories on The Grave Talks.
