Charity Chief Exec’s Weekly Update 25/06/22

Season 1, Episode 1294,   Jun 24, 2022, 08:04 AM

Each week we chat with RNIB’s CEO Matt Stringer to discuss the big news affecting the charity.

This week Matt started by talking about the launch of the RNIB and PAC IOU – Inclusive Opportunities and Universal Design  Global Charter which will help encourage global packaging companies and brands to commit to creating accessible packaging information and provide greater career opportunities within the sector for blind and partially sighted people too.

An update on the impact of the cost of living crisis on blind and partially sighted people and the continuing work that the RNIB and other organisations within the sight loss sector are doing around supporting blind and partially sighted people who are caught up in the situation in Ukraine.

Ending with a positive transport story and one which the RNIB has been involved in too, with news that the Tyne and Wear Metro is the first UK rail network to have tactile paving on every platform which is fantastic news for blind and partially sighted travellers.

If you have any questions at all relating to sight loss or just looking for help and advice please do call the RNIB helpline on 0303 123 9999 or use your Amazon device and ask Lady A to call the RNIB and speak to one of our Sight Loss Advisors or do visit the RNIB website where you will find a wealth of information and advice too - https://www.rnib.org.uk
