What Was First: Mute Records

Episode 1396,   Jun 30, 2022, 07:00 AM

Today's topic was suggested by listener Nick Jewlachow, who thought finding out what the first release on UK label Mute Records would be a good idea.

And he was right! Dig into the story of a label started with a synthesizer, a four track tape recorder and some earnings from film editing. Throw in a little help from Rough Trade Distribution and a classic label was born.

Hit and play and don't hit mute!
