My Daughter Was Kidnapped & I Did Not See Her For 22 Years - Chai With Sahelis: A Desi Dost Project

Season 2, Episode 5,   Jul 13, 2022, 10:03 PM

Leena has three daughters. Her oldest was kidnapped at 12 months old and whisked away to India and then to Qatar by her ex-husband.

Her two younger children were fathered by her ex-partner who was addicted to prescription drugs. Leena says he was calm when he was medicated and violent without them.

Both men were physically abusive towards her.

This audio story is part of a unique storytelling project, “Chai with Sahelis,'' where survivors from the Indian American (desi) community share deeply personal stories about their experience living with and surviving  domestic violence.

This is her story.
