Connect Voices Round Up 20 July 2022

Season 1, Episode 1321,   Jul 20, 2022, 08:00 AM

Max Conway, RNIB's National Involvement Coordinator shares the latest opportunities for blind and partially sighted people to get involved in.

Opportunities highlighted this week included:

RNIB’s State of the Nation telephone survey!
The RNIB is currently conducting research to better understand the experiences of people living with a vision impairment in the UK today, and how those experiences affect their day-to-day lives. The RNIB would like to understand what’s most important to people – what’s difficult, easy, what’s missing from everyday life and what brings people joy.
The telephone survey will only only take 30 minutes and in taking part you will help the RNIB understand your experiences and needs and also influence the work that the RNIB does.

Book Lovers Day Survey
RNIB is promoting its Talking Books service and the Amazon Alexa Talking Books skill for Book Lovers Day on Tuesday 9 August 2022. The RNIB is conducting a survey to better understand how blind and partially sighted people enjoy books.
The results from the Book Lovers Day survey will feature in a press release which will highlight the different ways that blind and partially sighted people enjoy books. This press release will be shared with media in the days leading up to Book Lovers Day and possibly on different social media

Join RNIB’s Cost of living focus group with the UK Government!
As a blind or partially sighted person are you paying more to light your home, is it becoming harder to afford essentials like food, do you have a support worker/PA and are paying more for petrol?
If so, then you could be one of the 4 to 6 people that the RNIB is looking for to help show the UK Government how the rise of living costs is impacting on the lifes of blind and partially sighted people .
