"I was drawn to this sound because it was made of Bakelite - one of many quietly revolutionary products synthesised in the 20th century, notable for its functional & aesthetic applications (though no obvious, distinctive aural ones). Additionally, the light switch has an obvious rhythmic, binary quality which would lend itself to music.
"All sounds on the recording are based on the sound of the light switch (albeit endlessly tampered with); no additional instruments or noises were used."
