A few days ago, I posted a personal story from my childhood about how hard it was on me to change schools. Today, I had the opportunity to hear Cassie’s story and an amazing effort that came from that experience.

When Cassie Bishop’s family moved from Nashville, Tennessee, to Dallas, Texas, it was a hard move for Cassie. Already feeling “different,” it lead to further isolation and depression. That is, until a moment in the high school cafeteria when one young man named Collin asked a simple question, “Do you want to sit with me?” Cassie’s mom, Angela, said that simple question changed everything and, ultimately, led to a vision called, “Brewed Blessings” to provide opportunities to the special needs community to connect with others in a meaningful way through employment.
