"I grew up around lots of tape machines, recorders, players etc. (my dad is a sound artist), as well as owning a Walkman in the late 90s, so this cassette player sample has a lot of nostalgia tied to it. I initially started off this track as something much more chilled-out and downtempo. I actually stumbled upon the main twisted guitar sample by accident, which really helped shape the track. It evolved into this techno track when I sped up the guitar sample a little and it sounded awesome.

"The cassette player sample is present dry and unprocessed, but also with a nice ping-pong delay that gives it a bit of width and depth. I found it great to work with, as the sounds of ejecting/opening/putting the tape in are quite rhythmic, so work very well with this genre of music.

"It was a lot of fun to muck around with the pitch of the twisted guitar sample too, and felt quite appropriate given the nature of the cassette sample."
