We talk about the creative process, how to publish a book, and how Aisla’s life informs her poetry, from her experiences as a trans-woman and her mental health battles, to the sheer joy of listening to blues music in an Irish Bar in Liverpool. Despite its title the book is about hope and the human experience as well as the difficulties that can be part of our lives. We also talk about freedom of speech, the responsibility that goes with it, and touch on some of the culture war issues that are so live at the moment.
