Crew Shortage Issues with Erica Lay - EL CREW CO

We sat down with Erica to discuss the very real issue with Crew Shortage. Why is the industry not only NOT retaining it's current crew, and why are we not seeing the hundreds of industry newbies that we have seen in the past. Erica wrote an article on this very subject, after having posed the issue to many crew that are currently in the industry, or have left. What she found is alarming and the industry needs to address it, or an owners 1st yacht may be without adequate crew, never mind their number 2 or 3 yacht.

In the interview, Rhea states that you can work at McDonalds, 40 hours a week, for more money, with no investment required. We have to state, it is only in certain parts of the world where minimum wage reflects cost of living.
