'Salem's Lot with Noah Segan

Episode 154,   Nov 30, 2022, 09:00 AM

Joining The Kingcast boys is actor/writer/director Noah Segan. You'll recognize him from all his work with Rian Johnson (from Brick to Glass Onion) and his newest project sees him stepping behind the camera directing a vampire tale of his own called Blood Relatives, which is now out on Shudder. Noah tells the boys all about what he pulled from this adaptation of 'Salem's Lot for his vampire movie, how different television and cinematic storytelling was in this era and just how amazing legendary actor's actor James Mason is in this thing. There is an unholy amount of James Mason impersonations going on in this episode. Fair warning.

Conversation once again turns to Stephen King's second novel, 'Salem's Lot, which is about a corrupt small Maine town slowly being taken over by vampires. This chat largely focuses on Tobe Hooper's made-for-TV adaptation from 1979 which forever terrified a whole generation of kids who now can't look out a misty window without crapping their pants. Thanks, Tobe.
