Cork City progressed to the second round of the FAI Ford Cup last night, thanks to a 6 - 1 win over Athlone Town in Turners Cross. City went 1 nil down after 5 minutes - but were easy winners in the end. Vinny Sullivan and Tadhg Purcell both grabbing hat-tricks. Manager Tommy Dunne,spoke to our man Alan Smith after the game.
