Dr Miguel Poiares Maduro — The Future of the EU and EU Law

Dr Miguel Poiares Maduro is the Dean of the Catholic Law School of Lisbon. Dr Poiares Maduro previously served as an Advocate General at the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg from 2007 to 2009. He has an extensive background as a Fulbright Visiting Research Scholar of Law at Harvard University, director of the School of Transnational Governance and professor of law at the European University Institute in Florence and visiting professor at Yale Law School. He has also worked as a lecturer at numerous other institutions, with the London School of Economics being among them. Dr Poiares Maduro also served as Minister for Regional Development in the Portuguese government of Pedro Passos Coelho from 2013 to 2015.
