Severe Multiple Sclerosis and the CASA-MS Study

Episode 87,   Apr 21, 2023, 10:00 AM

Welcome to the NeurologyLive® Mind Moments® podcast. Tune in to hear leaders in neurology sound off on topics that impact your clinical practice.

In this episode, we spoke with Robert Zivadinov, MD, PhD, director of the Buffalo Neuroimaging Analysis Center, and a professor of neurology and biomedical informatics at the Jacobs School of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo. He discussed the recent CASA-MS study that he and colleagues conducted into a subgroup of patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) who develop rapid and progressive disability at a relatively young age, which he presented earlier this year at the 2023 Americas Committee for Treatment and Research in MS Forum, and the critical effectively need to treat this group of patients. The study was carried out at The Boston Home, a specialized residential facility for individuals with advanced progressive neurological disorders, in Dorchester, Massachusetts, and at the University at Buffalo, in New York.
