"Then somebody spoke and I went into a dream… The original recording, with the long reverb from the tunnels, and the way the singer fades in as we approach, felt dream-like, and I wanted to emphasise & build on that. Since childhood I’ve been a fan of strange dreamy interludes and effected/modified recordings.
"I loved the loose timing and tuning, and didn’t want to “rectify” that, or try to make it conform to a grid, so played all the additional sounds in freeform, and tuned synths on the fly manually by tweaking the pitch wheel.
"The entire piece was composed within Logic, using no external hardware. Plugins used include UVI Falcon, Sculpture, Little AlterBoy. Reverb came from Valhalla Supermassive & Space Designer."
