RNIB Voice of the Customer Focus Groups - Public Attitudes to Sight Loss

Season 1, Episode 1748,   Jun 13, 2023, 09:00 AM

There are many ways that blind and partially sighted people can get involved in the work that the RNIB does around making a more inclusive society for blind and partially sighted people and even shape the future of the RNIB too.

One way is through the regular RNIB Voice of the Customer Focus Group meetings.

RNIB Connect Radio's Toby Davey was joined by Danielle Colcombe, RNIB Research and Insight Manager plus Zein a visually impaired focus group member to find out more about the recent focus group meetings which were all about public attitudes to sight loss.

Danielle began by reminding Toby about how the Voice of the customer focus Group meetings fits in with the wider work of the RNIB Voice of the Customer Research programme and how the group meetings help to bring the voice of blind and partially sighted people to the forefront of all the work the RNIB is doing around inclusion for blind and partially sighted people.

Zein then talked about why she wanted to take part in the focus groups, what she gain from being part of the groups including the opportunity to have your voice heard, help to make changes and meet other visually impaired people at the group meetings.

Danielle then talked about the key findings and learnings from the recent meetings around public attitudes to sight loss.

Zein then talked about why it is so important for all the feedback and comments from the focus group meetings to be fed back into all the work that Danielle and the rest of the team do around inclusion for blind and partially sighted people.
